Due to overfishing and pollution we have affected marine life in a massive way. According to the World Wildlife Fund report there has been a decrease in marine life of 50% from 1970 to 2012. Pollution is a big factor on the decrease in marine life, we dump 17.9 million pounds of plastic waste every year into the ocean affecting the animals that inhabit it. Overfishing is also affecting a vast majority of animals, in which we can conclude that fish are very important in many food webs, we know that overfishing leads to not only danger to fish lives but other animals as well that depend on fish for food like turtles and seals.
